Harry
Without a doubt the star of the podcast is Harry. Harry is 12 year old boy who like most boys his age loves watching random videos on you tube and playing Fortnite and Minecraft. However Harry also has ADHD, dyslexia and social anxiety. However despite this he also has incredible empathy and an amazing attitude to learning and life.
Dad
Well I am simply a proud parent of two boys, Harry and his younger brother Oliver. I love football, TV box sets and most importantly films. I am also part of a football podcast, feel free to give it a listen, the link is on our social media page.
Our podcast
So being part of a football podcast and loving it I wanted to start a film podcast as movies are one of my other passions. Whilst trying to decide how to start a film podcast I realised my answer was right there in front of me. Over the last year or so Harry had wanted to watch film series he had never seen before such as Lord of the Rings, Marvel films, The Harry Potter franchise and other franchises such as these. Over time I wrote down other films that I thought he would enjoy and put them all in a cup. Every week Harry would pick a film out of this cup and we would watch them and later chat about them.
So from there the idea was born to launch our own podcast where we discuss and review films. The hope was that Harry watching films from my childhood and me looking back on films I grew up watching would be an interesting insight into films and maybe encourage people to watch some of these “classics” themselves.
Hopefully the podcast will also help Harry to gain confidence in himself and over time he will be able to learn how to do all the editing and technical side of it himself so that he can maybe do something on his own if he chooses. So I hope you all enjoy the content and feel free to contact us with any movie suggestions.
As the podcast progressed we decided to change the format slightly and have introduced a challenge where Harry sets me a set amount of sentences to recap the plot of the movie in. We also introduced a Fact or Fiction section where Harry has to listen to three facts and decide which one is the lie.
The newest part of the podcats is that instead of having films in the cup we have placed random questions that we discuss about each movie as we review them. Feel free to suggestion any questions that can be added to the pot.
